Despite her estrangement from her elder sister, Marjorie, and her children, particularly Julia, Claudine Barretto remains devoted to her lineage, defending her 24-year-old niece against accusations of “failed career.”
Despite the negative press Julia has received, Claudine believes Julia’s career will not be easily derailed.
“Alam naman ng lahat na masama ang loob ko kay Julia,” she began, correcting the term “pabagsak na” in the question. “Pagkakaintindi ko kasi she’s not just given the right projects. Even if wala pang tsismis kay Julia nun …we were all just waiting for the good project to come to her. Kasi ang problema ang dami nila, may Jadine, Kathniel, Lizquen, Joshua, ngayon Jurald… I’m just waiting.”
Added the actress, “Medyo nega nasusulat sa pamangkin ko pero at the end of the day, pamangkin ko pa rin yon, e!”
“’Di ako naniniwala na babagsak,” she stressed, drawing parallels to her life story. “Kasi sa akin nangyari na ‘yan, ilang beses na, lalo na nung rebellious days ko. Si Julia hindi bumagsak, naging nega lang siya. We just need a good project for her because dugong Barretto ‘yan, magaling at may dugo din ni Dennis Padilla yan, magaling din!”
MARJORIE TO SISTERS GRETCHEN AND CLAUDINE: I WON’T WISH ILL OF THEM
In an interview with Toni Gonzaga, Marjorie Barretto says that even though she and her two sisters are facing a rough fight, she will always wish them both peace.
“And when some people who think na, ‘Who am I to say that, I’m not in good terms with my two other sisters.’
“It’s not out of hate. It’s out of… peace muna. Parang there’s just more peace when, in that space.
“Parang there’s just too much pain na it’s just gonna be more peaceful kung hindi bati.
“But it doesn’t mean that karga-karga ko araw-araw, na nagigising akong galit na galit sa kanila. Hindi, e, hindi ganun, e.”
Added the mom of 5, “Definitely, not from a place of hate.
“Well, I don’t look back at it na masakit pa yung dibdib ko or I won’t wish ill of them.
“Di ba ‘pag galit ka, ‘pag hate mo yung tao, di ba?
“Gusto mo masamang mangyari. Wala ako dun.
“It’s not coming from a place of unforgiveness. I just want peace.”
